THE ARAB-ISRAELI COOKBOOK: A readingOn Sunday, September 14, Studio 180 Theatre is partnering with Rev. John Joseph Mastandrea and the Metropolitan United Church for a special one-day-only reading of Robin Soan’s play The Arab-Israeli Cookbook.

In light of the current crisis in Israel and Gaza, we present this reading with the hope of encouraging community dialogue and creating an atmosphere of understanding and peace. Admission is free of charge and all are welcome to join.

The Arab-Israeli Cookbook was one of Studio 180’s most beloved past productions. In 2006, Studio 180 produced the Canadian premiere of this verbatim play, which presents deeply human portraits of ordinary people in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza during the time of the Second Intifada. The Toronto Star called our production, “A recipe for understanding; a recipe for great theatre” and The Globe and Mail named the cast Best Ensemble of the year. The reading will feature several of our original cast members and will be directed by Core Artistic Team Member, Mark McGrinder.
